cmcThe Cayuga Medical Center Foundation and John Rudd, CEO of Cayuga Medical Center announced that the proceeds from Gala 2016 will benefit the new Cayuga Medical Center Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. This unit will provide adult and pediatric inpatient epilepsy monitoring services to the southern tier in collaboration with the University of Rochester Medical Center. It will be conveniently located at Cayuga Medical Center right here in Ithaca. Cayuga Medical Center will be the only hospital in the southern tier to have an epilepsy monitoring unit.

The gala raised a net of $110,000 to support Cayuga Medical Center Foundation's 2016 fundraising initiative – Epilepsy Monitoring Unit Project.  $30,200 was raised by a live auction with auctioneer David Hall of Worth Asset Brokerage leading the way. David was assisted by Jean McPheeters.  All of the auction items were generously donated by local businesses and members of our community.

Jan Hertel, Executive Director of the Cayuga Medical Center Foundation said "The Annual CMC Foundation Gala helps us fund specific projects at CMC. This year the Gala Committee was led by Kate Travis and Trudy Baum.

"It is great to see how the Gala comes together… each of the committee members does their part and makes the evening a great success," said Hertel.

The fundraising initiative for Cayuga Medical Center's Epilepsy Monitoring Unit will continue to be a focus of fundraising for the CMC Foundation for the rest of this calendar year.
