sc sign175The Sciencenter will donate 50% of all admission proceeds from November 10 to the Association of Children's Museums and the Association of Science-Technology Centers to support science and children's museums affected by the multiple natural disasters of the past months, both in the U.S. and Mexico.

November 10, 2017 is the second annual International Science Center and Science Museum Day (ISCSMD) in conjunction with UNESCO's World Science Day for Peace and Development. On this day, science centers and science museums around the world share current research and present interactive activities about topics such as climate, human health, conservation, and other global issues.

"ISCSMD is a day to celebrate the most influential forces in engaging the public with science, technology, related civic decision-making, and direct action to solve critical issues facing the planet," says Sciencenter executive director, Dean Briere. "As part of a global community of science museums, the Sciencenter would like to support our colleagues in the field of science centers and science museums and their staff who have been affected by these disasters. We hope that in so doing we will prompt others across the globe to do the same." ISCSMD is held as a reminder to all about the universality of science and its capacity to build bridges across geographical, cultural, and religious boundaries while addressing common concerns.
