City of Ithaca, Mayor Svante Myrick visited Rev: Ithaca Startup Works to celebrate Quinn Energy and chat about energy.

"We couldn't be prouder of our local business Quinn Energy and its founder Adriane Wolfe. In its first year of business Adriane has built Quinn Energy into a nationally recognized leader in energy analytics. Quinn Energy is growing our economy while furthering the values of energy conservation and data driven decision making that are so important to Ithacans," says Mayor Myrick.

Quinn Energy is an energy analytics startup. They use big data techniques, system modeling, and optimization approaches to help stakeholders invest in emergent energy markets. The energy markets in New York State and other States are rapidly transforming with adoption of renewable energy and smart grid innovations.

The company focuses on the optimization of distributed energy resources (DER) at the microgrid scale (multiple buildings) and nanogrid (single, large building) scales. Their analytics can support municipalities, large property owners, energy companies, and utilities to make smart investments.

In March, Quinn Energy celebrated their one year anniversary. After just one year they were semi-finalists for Energy CIO Insights Magazine's Top 10 Big Data Providers, they were ranked in the top 35.

The firm recently became a Rev: Ithaca Startup Works member.

"Quinn Energy, already a team of four serving several customers, is looking to grow into one of the top ten big data providers in energy. They are exactly the type of company that Rev looks to mentor and assist in achieving their goals," Ken Rother, the Director of Rev says. Quinn Energy is excited to be joining this community of entrepreneurs.

Quinn Energy is a woman-owned business, and is applying to be certified as a NYS Women Minority Business Enterprise (WMBE). Ms. Wolfe sees a role for Quinn Energy to inspire the next generation of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) professionals. Recently, she presented a keynote talk, 'A Path to STEM' at Tech Savvy TC3 2017. Her message to the girls,

"There is a whole community of women who are working and persevering in STEM fields. We are changing the world and you can join us."
