DSP Shows, a top talent buyer and concert promoter in New York and New England, recently renewed their contract with the State Theatre of Ithaca, Inc. as the exclusive presenters of live music and entertainment at the 89 year-old venerable venue.

"Dan Smalls and DSP Shows are the premier promoter and talent buyer in Upstate New York, and we are thrilled to have a new agreement in place with them," said Executive Director Doug Levine.

With the agreement, DSP Shows will continue to act as the Exclusive Talent Buyer for the State Theatre's performances.

"Dan has helped guide the theater with his industry knowledge and contacts in order to bring quality community entertainment to Ithaca." Levine added. "We are fortunate that he has deep roots in Ithaca, which shows in his passion for the work he and his company do for us... [Renewing this contract] is a wonderful statement for our community."

The five-year agreement also gives DSP Shows the opportunity to bring their own shows to The State.

"The State Theatre is one of the last great independent theatres of its kind in America." Said DSP President Dan Smalls. "Artists love playing this venue for its beauty, its history, the fine acoustics, our loyal fans. The State Theatre's tremendous staff go out of their way to accommodate both the artists as well as their fans."

Indeed, the State Theatre's technical staff, along with Greenfield, MA based Klondike Sound LLC, spent 2 days installing and tuning the theatre's new audio system.

"The new system provides exceptional coverage and fidelity to every seat in the house," according to Jason Raboin of Klondike Sound.

Of the renewed contract and updated sound system, Smalls said "I am proud that we have been able to increase both the quality and number of shows that we bring to this historic venue and look forward to continued success."
