David E. McDougal, age 72 of Lansing, passed away from leukemia on May 20, 2016.

Born January 28, 1944 in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Clarence and Lillian (Barnett) McDougal. David was a graduate of Lansing High School and prior to retirement, had been employed as a machinist with Therm Inc. in Ithaca.

An avid outdoorsman, David enjoyed golfing, boating, riding motorcycle, garage sales, visiting Myers Park and tinkering in his garage. He loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Randy McDougal.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Doris VonBurger McDougal; their children, Steven (Tammy) of Groton, Crystal of Lansing; grandchildren, Zachary, Thomas and Kyle, Benjamin and LeeAnn; and a sister, Loreen.

Family will be present to receive friends from 12-1pm, Thursday, May 26th, at Lansing Funeral Home, 32 Auburn Rd., Lansing, NY. A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Jane Sautter, will follow at 1pm.
