Archie L. Doty, Jr., 83, of Beach Road, Lansing, NY passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013 at the Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca. Archie was born in Romulus, NY a son of the late Archie and Susie Lerkins Doty. He was married to the former Arlene Shevalier on May 29, 1948. Archie served honorably in The US Army from 1948 to 1953. He was employed at Volbrecht Lumber Co. and later was self employed as a pole barn builder and then went to work as an elevator operator at Cargill Salt Mine until retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Varna United Methodist Church and Lansing Seniors, Groton Seniors, King Ferry Seniors and enjoyed playing Bingo and traveling. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Arlene Doty, his children, Elizabeth (Edwin) Sill, Donna (Larry Sill) Doty and Rose Canavan; seven grandchildren, Kristina, Jeffrey, Yvonne, Joseph, Stephanie, Jennifer and Josh; thirteen great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Archie "Butch" Doty III in 1995 and his siblings, Louise, Ruby, Delos, Francis, Richard, Ralph and Alice.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Huff officiating. Burial, delayed until spring, will be in North Lansing Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 9 to 10 AM, Saturday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden.
