mailmanDear Editor:

By now voters are aware of Bernie Sander's many progressive proposals that would enhance the lives of indebted students, needy seniors, and worthy Veterans. But how is he going to pay for all that? Will the working people have to pick up the bill?

Bernie's tax plan is all about removing tax loopholes and tax breaks and raising tax rates for the wealthiest Americans. He proposes progressive income taxes on the richest one percent, fixing the estate tax so that the wealthiest families, the Waltons and the Kochs, pay their fair share, taxing profitable corporations fairly--including eliminating off-shore tax havens, and finally taxing Wall Street speculation.

Making these adjustments would bring in the revenue needed to enact his proposals.

Does Bernie have the presidential leadership to get this done?

According to a March 15th New York Times analysis, Bernie has demonstrated he can reach across the aisle, as he did when he was the Chair of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee. According to John McCain, his Republican colleague on the committee "I've worked with people who tell you they are going to do one thing and then do another, Bernie did what he said. And he was very effective".

On April 19th, I'm voting for Bernie Sanders.

Respectfully,
