With great enthusiasm, I write to endorse Walaa Maharem-Horan for election to the Town of Lansing Board. We're so lucky to have fresh talent stepping up to serve in a town government that often seems to have locked its gaze on the past and failed to anticipate the future.

Walaa is an active and dedicated citizen leader with both the vision and energy that are sorely lacking in the incumbent candidates. But perhaps the most valuable trait Walaa would bring to her service is her instinct for democracy. I believe she will be truly interested in hearing from many voices and thereby developing a more informed, comprehensive approach to policymaking that assesses the risk to our future well being of choices we make today.

If you live in the Village or Town of Lansing, please get out and vote on November 7 for Walaa Maharem-Horan.
