Lansing's Varsity Girls Swimming and Diving team maintained their lead this week, winning two meets against Waverly and Dryden. 

In Monday's (9/19) competition Lansing scored 99 to Waverly's 67.  Hannah Wingate, Becky Mapes, Nikki Dean and Caitlin Wright took first place in the 200 Medley Relay in 2:05.55.  In the 200 Free Claire Eckstrom took first in 2:09.02.  Hannah Wingate took first in the 200 IM in only 2:24.63.

Lansing lost the 50 Free to Waverly, but bounced back when Claire Eckstrom took first place in the 100 Fly with a time of 1:06.31.  Hannah Wingate took another first in the 100 Free in :58.78.  Nikki Dean finished first in the 500 Free, finishing in 5:33.19.

Kristin Carlson, Kayla Arrison, Rachel Bland, Claire Eckstrom finished the 200 Free Relay in 1:57.29, also taking first.  Caitlin Wright took first in the 100 Backstroke in 1:08.76 and Becky Mapes finished the 100 Breast stroke in 1:18.43. 

The Waverly team only won two events, the 400 Free Relay and the 50 Free, which Melanie Sewalt took for Waverly in :27.82.

On Wednesday (9/21) Lansing defeated Dryden 114 to 72.  In the first event Caitlin Wright, Becky Mapes,  Claire Eckstrom and Rachel Bland took first in 2:01.02.  Hanna Wingate finished first in the 200 Yard Freestyle in 2:07.08.  In the third event Claire Eckstrom finished in 2:23.60, also taking first place.

Next Nikki Dean took the top score, swimming the 50 Yard Freestyle in :25.82.  Kiki Gifft scored highest in the 1 Meter Dive.  Then Claire Eckstrom took her third first-place of the evening when she finished the 100 Yard Butterfly in 1:04.74.  Lansing took another first in the 100 Yard Freestyle when Nikki Dean finished in :55.06.

Hannah Wingate finished first in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a winning time of 5:40.69.  In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay Lansing swimmers Caitlyn Wright, Claire Eckstrom, Nikki Dean and Hannah Wingate made the best time of 1:44.20.  The tenth event was the 100 Yard Backstroke which Caitlin Wright finished first in 1:08.88, with KC Hatfield taking second place.

Dryden's Elle Roberson took first in the 100 Yard Breast stroke in 1:15.17 with Lansing's Becky Mapes only .60 of a second behind her.  In the final event Lansing finished with another first when Rachel Bland, Caitlin Wright, Hannah Wingate and Nikki Dean took first place in 4:07.71.
