Lansing's Varsity Boys Soccer Team beat Marathon Saturday (10/22) to earn the second straight IAC Championship title. Lansing beat Marathon 3-1 in an exciting come from behind game.

Marathon got the first goal and kept the lead in the first half. The second half started slowly until 16 minutes before the end of the half Ryan Tengi hit a 30 yard direct kick to make a tying goal. "3 minutes later Walker Diebolt scored on a pass from Tom Kraft to go up 2-1 then five minutes after that Tom Kraft hit a long hard shot to upper left corner to make the score 3-1," reports Coach Adam Heck.

"I was very proud of the way we came out in the second half- we dominated them for the most par tin the 2nd half but it just took a while to get on the board. I think we settled down and played our game," says Coach Heck. "It was great for this team to win it.  We lost 13 seniors from last year's team and for us to do the same thing this year is great. It speaks highly of the program as a whole."

Indeed it does. Last year the team made it all the way to State. Though they did not win there, it was an outstanding accomplishment. This year's team will have another chance.
