Paced by the three captains,juniors Vernon Nabinger, and Curtis Fenner,and freshman Kyle Dake, the Lansing wrestling team already eclipsed last years three wins by posting a 5-2 dual meet mark.  In the past week alone we have had 4 dual meets and beat Thomas Edison, Watkins Glen, and Walton, while losing a tight match to Marathon 39-30.

Outstanding performances were posted by Matt Martin, Igor Karandeyev, Fenner, and Dake.  Even in defeat, Jon Glennon, and Donald Krebs matches against Marathon were tight, losing to Devon Brown, (returning section 4 champ)5-2, and Tyler Malmberg 6-5 respectivly. Vernon Nabinger is 6-1 in dual meet competition, and has been wrestling well, although is fighting a recent injury.

Curtis Fenner's current record stands at 16-3 with two 3rd place finishes at the Clyde Cole, and Elmira Christmas Tournament repectivly.

Kyle Dake ran his record to 13-0, with his most rececent defeat of Walton's Eddie Torres with a technical fall 15-0 in the third period. Dake has posted two tournament championships at the Clyde Cole, and Elmira Christmas Tournament. Dake did not have a point scored on him at either of those events, and he is currently ranked number 1 in section 4 at the 96 pound weight class.
