wineandblooms Kalee Doeing
Moravia, NY - Wine & Blooms announced that instructor Kalee Doeing has been promoted to Creative Director. Her role will foster the creation of unique, fun and creative gardening related experiences as well as support the growing team of instructors that have joined the company this year.

Doeing teamed up with Wine & Blooms' founder, Leigh McGonagle in 2016 as a part time gardener in sister company, Poplar Point Studio. In the past year Doeing has led over 40 garden related workshops in the Finger Lakes region, and has been responsible for a range of tasks from designing projects, ordering supplies, managing ticket sales as well as being the lead instructor for the business.

"Kalee has been an integral part of this business since we sat over coffee years ago to dream this up," says McGonagle. "Her enthusiasm for teaching, creative passion for the work, and her desire to see this business succeed have contributed to this strategic move for the business. She has truly blossomed as an individual and leader in her time here, so I'm excited to see how she takes on this new role."

Prior to working at Wine & Blooms, Doeing spent two years learning the landscape industry as a maintenance foreman for Poplar Point Studio. Previously she worked at a number of other service facing positions in the area, such as being a color consultant for Sherwin-Williams, as well as guest service for a local B&B. She is also an art instructor for kids art classes at the Schweinfurth Museum in Auburn, NY.

Doeing earned her B.A. from Wells College with a concentration in Ceramics.
