June 2, 2006 (ITHACA, NY)- Anyone can see live, professional theatre for less than the price of a movie ticket, thanks to the Hangar Theatre's PAY WHAT YOU CAN (PWYC) program. On Sunday, June 11th at 7:30pm, a set of seats have been reserved for "Pay What You Can" patrons to see the world premiere one-man musical Sammy & Me starring Eric Jordan Young.

ANY AMOUNT will be accepted as payment for these tickets. The Hangar is proud to offer PWYC performances, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to experience live theatre regardless of financial resources. This part of the Pay What You Can program is made possible by the theatre's PWYC sponsor, GreenStar Cooperative Market.

PWYC tickets go on sale the day of the performance at 6:30pm, one hour prior to curtain time, at the Hangar Theatre, which is located on Route 89 in Cass Park near the Treman Marina entrance. Advanced reservations for PWYC tickets are not taken, one ticket will be sold per person, and adjacent seating is not guaranteed. Sales are cash only and tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis (seating is not guaranteed, so arrive early). Regular priced tickets for the Sunday show range from $14- $29. Purchasing regular priced tickets will ensure adjacent seating, availability, and location. Reservations for full priced tickets can be made at the Ticket Center in the Clinton House in downtown Ithaca or by calling (607)273-4497.

Theaters across the country offer PWYC performances to help overcome financial barriers to attending performances and offer everyone a place in the theater. Each show this season at Hangar Theatre will offer a PWYC performance. There will also be a PWYC performance of Sleuth on June 25 at 7:30, Bloodline, Part 1: The Sacrifice on July 9 at 7:30, Bloodline, Part 2: Absolution on July 16 at 2:00, Art on July 30 at 7:30 and Hello, Dolly! on August 27 at 7:30.
