June 5, 2006 (ITHACA, NY)- The Hangar Theatre is once again giving area families a full summer of fun with an extended, eleven show KIDDSTUFF series. The Hangar kicks off its 2006 KIDDSTUFF Season on June 13th, with the exciting bilingual adventure, Two Donuts. Two Donuts, which through June 17th, tells the magic realist tale of Pepito, a young Latino boy who tries to instill the beauty of his grandmother’s homeland into the barrio.

But Two Donuts is just the beginning of a summer-long trip where imagination takes flight. On June 24th, Moreland the Magician returns with his unique blend of magic and humor. From June 29th to July 1st, there’s an intruder in the house in Bunnicula, and Chester the Cat and Howard the dog are not too fond of his fangs. Next up is a sneak peek of the Hangar Theatre’s fall school tour production, Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing. Judy Blume’s hilarious tale of sibling rivalry comes to life on July 8th.

Hangar Theatre Teaching Artist Holly Adams, who will have the kids laughing in the aisles and possibly on the stage, visits on July 15th in Further Adventures of Clown! Go, Dog. Go! brings to life P.D. Eastman’s book about the world of dogs in all their varied sizes and shapes from July 20th to the 22nd. Kiddplay, a showcase of plays written by some of Ithaca’s youngest playwrights, follows on July 29th. The timeless E.B. White classic The Adventures of Stuart Little comes next—join the little mouse as he learns big lessons on size and what really matters in life from August 3rd to the 5th.

On August 12th, KIDDStars, the Next Generation elementary showcase, will highlight the burgeoning talent of the Hangar’s youngest theatre artists, as will Bugsy Malone, Jr., the Next Generation middle school production, which runs from August 17th through the 19th. This send up of the old gangster flicks will knock the audience dead. The Frog Prince by David Mamet rounds out the season for two weekends: September 8th through the 10th, and again September 15th through the 17th. This funny and touching tale delves into the meaning of selflessness and love. The KIDDSTUFF season is made possible by season sponsors Wegmans and Ithaca College, and season media sponsor, Cayuga Radio Group.
