golf3The Lansing Girls Varsity Golf team recently began league play after struggling to find meaningful opportunities for practice this spring.   The majority of practices were centered around practicing putting in the library, chipping plastic balls into nets  and reviewing golf rules, strategies, and etiquette.  Even though limited in terms of real-world practices the Lansing girls have gotten off to a strong start this year.

The Lansing Girls Golf team travelled to Willowcreek Golf Course in Big Flats for a three team match on April 14th.

Lansing Girls team won the match by shooting a team round  206 against Horseheads 211 and Watkins Glens 213.

The medalist for the match was Madalyn Owen of Horseheads who submitted a 46 on her scorecard.

Score cards turned in by Lansing players:

Olivia Longhouse 49
Katherine Babuka 49
Krista Taylor 54
Cassidy Towner 54

The record for the Lansing Girls Golf team is 4-2.
