wellsAurora, New York—Wells College announces the appointment of two new members of the Board of Trustees. Carl Sgrecci and Allen J. Naples will begin their three-year terms of service immediately, as the Board prepares to gather in Aurora for its annual fall meeting.

"Wells College will benefit tremendously from the experience and acumen of such accomplished leaders in the business and finance arena, and we are delighted to welcome them to our Board," said Board of Trustees Chair Carrie A. Bolton '92.

Carl Sgrecci, of Ithaca, N.Y., retired in 2013 after a 45-year career with Ithaca College, most recently as Vice President for Finance and Administration. He is a New York State Certified Public Accountant, and holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Syracuse University, a B.S. in Accounting from Ithaca College and an A.S. in Business Administration from Corning Community College. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Schuyler Hospital Board of Directors and as a member of the Board of Directors of Gadabout Transportation Services, Inc.

An active community leader, his previous service includes the Boards of Directors of Longview (a senior living community), the Special Children's Center (now the Racker Centers), Tompkins County Area Development, Inc. (TCAD), Home Health Care, Inc., United Way of Tompkins County, Cornell FingerLakes Credit Union and on the Ithaca Norstar Bank Advisory Board. Mr. Scgrecci also served on the Ithaca Mayor's Task Force on Economic Development.

Allen J. Naples, of Fayetteville, N.Y., has served as Senior Vice President and Regional President for M&T Bank since 2005 where he is responsible for Corporate and Commercial Real Estate Lending as well as oversight of the Regional Bank. Mr. Naples joined M&T after serving seven years as Executive Vice President and Regional President for HSBC USA. During his 24-year career at HSBC, Mr. Naples held numerous positions including Regional President, Senior Corporate Lender, Senior Project Manager, and Area Executive, responsible for retail, small business and wealth management. Prior to joining HSBC, Mr. Naples was the Syracuse District Executive for Key Bank of Central New York.

Mr. Naples received his Bachelor's Degree in Personnel and Industrial Relations from Syracuse University and has pursued advanced studies from the West Point Management School of Career Development, the University of Buffalo and the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management at the University of Virginia.

Mr. Naples' community affiliations are numerous and he currently serves at the executive or chairman level for the Onondaga Community College Board of Trustees, the New York Business Development Corporation, the SRC, Inc. Board of Trustees, CenterState CEO, Say Yes for Education Scholarship Campaign, Century Club of Syracuse and Onondaga Golf and Country Club.

"Mr. Naples and Mr. Sgrecci bring critical expertise to our Board, especially at this time of growth and forward momentum for the College. That Wells College can attract this level of talent and commitment sends a strong and positive message about our position as an important regional economic driver. I look forward to working closely with each of them," said College President Jonathan Gibralter.

The Board of Trustees also approved Lisa Mazzola Cania '79, Vice President for Community and Employee Relations at St. Lawrence University, of Hannawa Falls, N.Y., and Daniel J. Fessenden, Executive Director of the Fred L. Emerson Foundation, of Union Springs, N.Y., to serve as at-large members of the Board of Trustees Executive Committee for 2015-16. They join Chair Bolton, a Senior Manager at Vanguard Financial, of Lancaster, Pa., Vice Chair Marie Chapman Carroll '75, a retired Anheuser-Busch Inc. executive, of Philadelphia, Pa., Secretary Sarah C. Chase '69, of Arlington, Va., WCA President Betty Rodriguez Vislosky '78, Partner and Managing Director of Vital Point Partners, LLC, of Bradenton, Fla., and President Gibralter on the Executive Committee.

At the October meeting, the Board of Trustees will also welcome newly-elected Trustees Rachael Ristau '15 and Kathryn L. Fong '06. Ms. Ristau, of Manlius, N.Y., who graduated in May with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Management, was selected by students as a Collegiate Trustee for a two-year term. She is currently a graduate student at Columbia University in New York City. Ms. Fong, of New York, N.Y., is a 2006 Wells graduate with a B.A. in Women's Studies. She was elected to serve by the Wells College Association of Alumnae and Alumni (WCA). Ms. Fong is a Senior Associate at Kirk Palmer & Associates, an executive search firm specializing in the retail and fashion industries, where she specializes in assessing and recruiting top financial and operational talent.

The Wells College Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of the College and provides policy oversight and fiduciary stewardship. Trustees are elected to service by the Board and all have full voting rights. Its membership includes three Trustees selected by the WCA and two Trustees nominated to serve by the students; the President of the College and the President of the WCA serve ex officio.
