ITHACA, NY- Yesterday a representative from the Verizon Foundation presented United Way with a $9,500 grant for the Verizon Mobile Education Lab and Training Series at United Way of Tompkins County
A training series will be offered to employees of United Way of Tompkins County member organizations in conjunction with the Mobile Education Lab. Trainings will include how to use the new software, as well as how to make memorable and effective presentations to different audiences. The schedule of training sessions will be available in Fall 2007.
The need for this project surfaced in 2005, when United Way of Tompkins County was awarded grant money from the Verizon Foundation for member organizations seeking to upgrade their office technology. At the time, several organizations expressed a need for presentation equipment and updated computers. This new initiative will satisfy these needs and more.
The Verizon Mobile Education Lab and Training Series will provide equipment and education that dozens of health and human service agencies could not otherwise afford. This initiative supports United Way of Tompkins County
