The Public Protection Budget Sub-Committee is responsible for reviewing all aspects of the criminal justice budget as well as budgets for correctional services, military and naval affairs, the state police, the judiciary and homeland security. "It is an honor to be given the important responsibility of Chairman for the Public Protection Budget Sub-Committee," said Nozzolio. "One of my top priorities is to ensure the protection of our citizens, and I will work directly with my Senate colleagues to do everything we can to protect our families, homes and communities."

"As Chairman of the Senate Budget Sub-Committee on Public Protection, I will continue to support our police, first responders, correctional officers, and all other aspects of our criminal justice system and homeland security," continued Nozzolio.

"Additionally, I will work to ensure that the State government remains accountable to the taxpayers of New York State. There is no better way to do that than to deliver an on-time, fiscally responsible State budget that builds on the many successes we have achieved over the last several years."
