rayburn inmyers120Canandaigua - Conservative Republican Floyd Rayburn, candidate for the New York State Senate, 54th district, challenged his opponents to a series of six debates today.

"We want every voice heard in this election.  We were able to do a series of debates with 12 candidates in the race.  I think we can accommodate six.  I want all of our ideas and plans heard.  At the end of the day, voters should know who they think will best represent them in Albany.  I'm confident I'll be able to show them that that's me," said Rayburn.

Rayburn has earned the endorsements of Tompkins County legislator Mike Sigler and honorably discharged Army Captain Joe Geiger, who were both running for the 54th district at one time.

"Floyd was solid on the issues.  He knew what he was talking about.  When it came to attracting businesses, making a payroll, creating an atmosphere that would help small business in New York state, there wasn't anyone on the stage that brought that kind of knowledge to the prior debates better than Floyd," said Mike Sigler, now Rayburn's communications director.

"I want my message of stopping the SAFE Act, term limits for state executives and legislators, mandatory prison terms for corrupt politicians, and creating an environment in New York that supports small business to be front and center and I want voters to know that I will fight for those causes every day and I will not give up.  Debates are the best way for me to show them my commitment to the issues," said Rayburn.

Rayburn suggests the local media outlets host the debates.  Rayburn picked having six debates so that one could be held in each county.
