The Lansing Football team improved their record to 4-0 with a 42-0 victory over previously unbeaten Watkins Glen on Friday.  It was a total team effort from the start, with The Bobcats getting positive contributions from everyone on both sides of the ball.  The Cat's took the opening kickoff and marched 66 yards ending with a Trevor Countryman 6 yard run, his first of four touchdowns on the evening, a Rusty Landon kick made the score 7-0.

The Bobcats received good field position on their next possession starting on the Watkins 47 yard line they drove for another Countryman touchdown, this one from three yards out, the Landon kick made it 14-0 to end the first quarter.  Once again the Bobcats benefited from good field position starting at the Watkins 49 yard line they put together a seven play drive ending with a Countryman one yard plunge, a Vincent Redmond pass to Ryan Earl for the 2 point conversion made the score 22-0 at the half.  However, it was the defense that supplied the turning point of the game as they came up huge stopping Watkins on downs just prior to the end of the first half, securing the lead, and preventing the Senecas from gaining any momentum.

Watkins Glen received the ball to start the second half, however their drive was derailed by a Kyle Christopher interception that gave the Cat's the ball on the Watkins 30 yard line.  Five plays later Countryman scored from two yards out and the Landon kick made it 29-0 early in the third quarter.  On the Cat's next possession Lansing drove 52 yards, the last 13 yards covered by Rusty Landon for a touchdown, his kick attempt hit the upright making the score 35-0 to end the third quarter.

Adam Nedrow completed the scoring for the evening as he rumbled 33 yards for a touchdown, the Landon kick made the final 42-0.  The story of the game was the outstanding performance of the Lansing defense which kept the Senecas off the scoreboard, and held their leading rusher Jeff Meehan to just 12 yards on 14 attempts.  The Bobcats received great efforts from Ryan Shaff and Matt Ford, subbing for the injured Kyle Sweazey, in addition to the play of the defensive line and linebackers, it was a total team effort.
