Lansing's Girls Varsity Swim Team enjoyed another victory last Thursday (10/05) against Southern Cayuga Central Schools (SCCS) when they finished the meet 59-39.  Lansing made a strong showing, taking first place in seven out of twelve events.  The meet began with Nikki Dean, Leigh Conley, Hannah Wingate, Kali Dean taking first in the 200 Medley relay, finishing in 2:04.43.  SCCS's Bethany Ortquist came in first in the 200 free, but in the next event Hannah Wingate sped to first place, finishing the 200 IM in 2:27.62.

Kali Dean took first in the 50 Free in 25.78, then Hannah Wingate took another first in the 100 Fly, finishing in 1:08.57.  Lansing was defeated in the 100 free, but sprang back when Kali Dean took first place in the 500 Free.  Leigh Conley, Rachel Bland, Erin OBrien, Claire Eckstrom won first for Lansing when they completed the 200 Free Relay in 1:54.47, then Nikki Dean took the last Lansing first of the meet when she completed the 100 Back Stroke in 1:05.14.

Then last Tuesday, Lansing won again in a closer meet, beating Waverly 96-81.  Lansing's C and E teams scored in first and third place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay.  Lexi Payton, Nikki Dean, Hannah Wingate and Rachel Bland finished the event in 2:09.14, while Kendal Dean, Sarah Tull, Kelsy Quigley and Kayla Arrison made it in 2:18.93.

Erin Obrien took first place in the 200 Yard Freestyle, finishing in 2:12.78.  Ashley McDonald and Katrina Mehringer also scored for Lansing.  Kali Dean finished the 200 Yard IM in 2:25.24, taking first place, with Lexi Payton and Chelsie Radcliffe scoring in the event.  Nikki Dean took first in the 50 Yard Freestyle, finishing in 26.81  with Rachel Bland close behind in second place.  Nicole Nassif also scored for Lansing in the event.

Kristin Carlson and Danyelle Barron scored in diving, with scores of 141.45 and 134.70 respectively.

Kelsy Quigley (1:14.59 ) took first place in the 100 Yard Butterfly, with Kali Dean (1:16.72) taking second place and Kristin Carlson scoring in fourth place.  Waverly took first in the 100 Yard Freestyle, but with Kendal Dean, Sarah Tull, and Rachel Bland all scoring, Lansing won the event on points 9-7.  Erin Obrien sped to first place in the 500 Yard Freestyle, finishing in 6:00:27, with Ashley McDonald and Kayla Arrison scoring as well.

Lansing's 'C' team (Hannah Wingate, Kali Dean, Erin Obrien and Ashley McDonald) and 'E' team (Katrina Mehringer, Kelsy Quigley, Chelsie Radcliffe and Kristin Carlson) scored in first and second place in the ninth event, the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.  Then Waverly took all three scoring places in the 100 Yard Backstroke and the 100 Yard Breaststroke.  Waverly took first and third place in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, with Kendal Dean, Nikki Dean, Kayla Arrison and Erin Obrien scoring for Lansing in second place.
