ImageThe Ithaca 13U, 14U, 16U and 19U Shooting Stars girls travel ice hockey teams were active Feb. 15-17.
They are sponsored by Tompkins Girls Hockey Association.

The 13Us played the IYHA Squirts Red House team and won 7-3. Grace Ulinski scored four goals, Bridget Derraugh scored two, and Gwen Umbach scored one. All were unassisted. Alex Stagliano had 16 saves in goal.

The 14Us also played an IYHA (Ithaca Youth Hockey Association) team. They lost 3-5 to the Bantam Snowbelt squad. Shooting Stars goals were scored by three players: Carrie Wilder assisted by Hannah Golay and Clara Karastury; Ali Pace assisted by Wilder and Allison Grippin; and Marissa Ramos assisted by Meredith Kirk. Angela Everhart made 29 saves. They also played the Syracuse Stars 12U Tier 1 girls team and won 2-0 win. Serena Mendola scored one assisted by Wilder) and Golay scored the other assisted by Grippin. Everhart stopped 18 shots on goal.

Ithaca's 16U team defeated the Geneva Bombers 19U girls, 8-0. Annabelle Jones recorded the shutout in goal. Gabe Klick and Emma Hassen each scored twice; Erin Grainger and Kathryn Luschwitz each scored one goal and two assists. Other goals were made by Lauren Cole and Emily Eisenhut. Other assists came from Kaitlyn Ryan (2), Melissa Ash, Katie Long, and Janesa Cornish.

The 19U Shooting Stars played three games vs. the Wheatfield Blades 16Us and one vs. the Monroe County Eagles 19Us. All 16U players are also on the 19U team that includes three girls over 16. They beat the Eagles 6-2. Cornish and Luschwitz each scored two goals; Cole and Long scored the other goal. Assists were made by Kaitlin MacLean, Klick, E. Eisenhut, Hassen, Cole, and Cornish. Sarah Eisenhut was in goal for the win.

Against Wheatfield, Ithaca won twice, 2-0 and 3-2, and lost once 2-3. In the three evenly played games, Cornish had two goals. Single goals were made by Hassen, Ryan, Long, Cole and MacLean. Assists were recorded for Samantha Craig, Kendall Brug, Cole, Grainger, and Long.
