ImageSophomore Chloe Ryan and Junior Jeff Swayze had huge days on the track and in the field for Lansing this past Saturday, with both taking home meet MVP honors.

Ryan won the 100m, placed 2nd in the 200m and long jump and was a member of the winning Lansing girls 4 x 100m relay team (Chloe Ryan, Anna Mapes, Lindsay Petry, Kathryn Hornibrook) which missed the track record of 51.2 set by Ithaca HS in 2005.  They were .1 off the mark with a 51.3.  This was extremely impressive for this early in the season.

Swayze continues to impress as he launched a personal best throw in the shot put of 51’ ¼”.  He continues to improve meet by meet.  Expectations are high for this talented junior.

Spring break hurt Lansing with about ½ of our team away.  However, in a rather talented 14 team field, the girls placed 3rd of 14 and the boys 4th of 14.  Again the team ran this meet from an individual perspective rather than a team one due to a small number of athletes.  When we have all the kids back we should be a tough team to beat on both sides this spring.
