The Potsdam Men’s soccer team played to a tough 1-1 tie with Wells College in a very physical game between the two teams in the first game on Day 2 of the Potsdam Bears Classic.

James Edsall scored Potsdam’s only goal at the 79:48 mark and was assisted by Mark McCloskey.  Corey Fischer from Wells tied the game at 86:14. The Bears outshot Wells 16-4 in the game.

DJ Martin made one save in goal for Potsdam. Mike Birklin made nine saves for Wells.

There were a total of 38 fouls in the game. Potsdam received three yellow cards with Wells receiving two yellow cards and a red card that led to the ejection of Ryan Huggins.

The men now go on the road next weekend for the Cardinal Classic at Plattsburgh. Potsdam plays Plymouth St on Saturday (9/6) and Green Mountain on Sunday  (9/7).
