ImageTioga Central came to Helen Newman January 15th to bowl the Lansing Bobcats and the Lansing kept with their good rolling a 2235 total pins to roll past the Tioga girls. Lansing was led by Brooke Burke’s 206 – 508 with help from fellow senior Kristi Sullivan, as Michelle Striley was Tioga’s high scorer. Over on the boys side our rebuilding year was evident was we fell to Tioga 2643 to our 2420. Both T J Williams & Allen Willis were high rollers for Tioga with 591 series and were helped by Chris Potucek’s 562. Lansing’s Trevor Rounds rolled a 550 and had help from Harry Harrison & Tyler Mix.

In a make up match this past Friday Lansing went to Marathon and found a very veteran boys & girls team there. The Marathon boys jumped out to a good lead in the first game and never looked back as they rolled 2899 to Lansing’s 2689. Marathon had three boys with better then 600 as Erik McGrown rolled 217-644, Mike Whitmore 236-628 and Brett McGrown 208-613 rolled well. Lansing did it’s best to stay in the match as Pat Nedrow 237-626 (his first 600) and was helped by Joel Tielbaum’s 209-557 and Troy Hradisky 179-522 but it wasn’t enough.

On the girl’s side of the house Marathon’s Jacki Cross rolled a 623 with help from Kristen Hammond’s 540 and Paige Parker’s 533 as the Marathon girls rolled a fine 2536 to Lansing’s 1949. Ashley Flemming was Lansing’s bright spot rolling a 434 with help from Katie Jordan and Taylor Bandler.

The Lansing Girls also finished in third place and the boys finished in eighth place over the weekend at Rossi Lanes rolling in the IAC Big House. Lansing traveled to Odessa on Wednesday and Waverly on Thursday for the showdown match for the Lansing Girls as they trail Waverly by two points in the Large School division.

The Bobcats went to Johnny's Lanes in Watkins Glen to bowl Odessa last night (1/21) and the Lansing girls rolled behind the good shooting of Kristi Sullivan's 213-563 series which was high score by any bowlers here. Lansing also had help from Ashley Schuster's 187-462 and Katy Bland's 416 and Ashley Flemings' 407. The lone high score for Odessa was Mallery Richards with a 151-405 series. Lansing took all four points for this match as totals were 2245 to 1787.

 

On the boys side the Lansing boys won their second match of the year rolling 2340 to Odessa's 2233 taking three out of four points. Odessa's Aaron Fisher led all the boys with a 217-532 , but Lansing put up scores from Harry Harrison 211-520 with help from Patrick Nedrow's 189-504 and Trevor Rounds 457 and Tin Carlson's 456. The Lansing Bobcats roll to Waverly on 1-22-09 for a show down in the Large School Girl's Division as this match will be for the Large School Title.
