ImageDuring March 7-8 weekend, the 19U Ithaca Shooting Stars girls hockey team had three home games as they prepare to compete in the 19U Tier 2 NYSAHA tournament next weekend, and the 12Us played in the Canandaigua Knights tournament. 

The Ithaca 12U Shooting Stars came in second in the Don Vetter Tournament. In a warm-up game against a local youth team, the Ithaca girls won by a 3-2 score on goals by Sophie Partington, Ellie Muckstadt and Anu Pruitt.

Next Ithaca bested a Monroe County-Canandaigua team, 2-0, behind Caitlyn Whittaker's 16 saves and goals from Paige Johnson and Anna Kirkwood, and tied the Canandaigua Knights 12Us, 1-1, with Zoe Seznec Sweetland scoring and Whittaker making 25 saves. When facing the same Canandaigua team in the championship game, Ithaca lost 4-0.

Ithaca 19Us tied the Camillus Cougars 19Us, 1-1, and beat the Rome Grizzlies 16Us, 2-1, and the Ithaca Sirens women's hockey team, 6-0. Goalie Sarah Eisenhut stopped 35 shots in the three contests.  Hannah Golay scored in the Camillus game assisted by Erin Grainger and Krystalyn Yonkin.  Emily Eisenhut and Katie Long scored against Rome assisted by Lauren Cole.  Ali Pace and Long each had two goals and one assist in the win over the Sirens. Golay and Cole scored the other two goals. Eisenhut and Yonkin added three helpers each.
