“T-Burg Takes On Pediatric Cancer” is a local organization that focuses on the families of affected children between the ages of 0-18. After witnessing several of their friends children struggle with cancer, Fred and Tracy Van Derzee were inspired to start raising money for this cause. These funds have gone to the immediate families of cancer patients in order to support the inevitable costs that come with the devastating diagnosis. Gas money for trips to the hospital, lodging, and meals are just an example of the expenses that “T-Burg Takes On Pediatric Cancer” aims to help assist with.
This morning February 4, 2014 at 8:15 Chris Allinger on The Wake Q (103.7 Q Country) opened his microphone and asked for donations to replace the money that had been stolen. By the time he signed off the air at 10:00AM the community had pledged or stopped by and had raised over $3,400.00. “It’s an incredible example of how generous people here can be and I’m so please that something so good can come from something so awful,” Chris Allinger said.
