Lansing High School hosted its second annual honor roll recognition evening Wednesday, May 28th.  Students on the LHS honor roll were invited to attend the event, which included a presentation by local entrepreneur Charlie Mulligan and an ice cream social.

Mulligan, founder and CEO of GiveGab, a website that helps individuals find opportunities to volunteer in activities that interest them, spoke on the importance of hard work, cooperation, and determination in achieving success.  Attending students were energized by Mulligan’s talk.

A number of students asked the speaker for advice on their own future entrepreneurial pursuits, and discussion of local opportunities to volunteer continued long after the presentation had concluded.

Of the approximately one hundred students invited to the event, about half attended.  Organizers say they hope that these numbers will continue to grow as the honor roll recognition evening and other, similar events continue to encourage scholarship in the student body.
