rotaryPrideOfWorkmanship 120On October 28, the Rotary Club of Ithaca presented its 18th annual Pride of Workmanship awards to three deserving individuals in Tompkins County. The award recognizes area employees whose outstanding work performance in their organization is "above and beyond the call of duty" and is instrumental in the achievement of the organization's performance goals.

Rotary's Pride of Workmanship committee chair Joan Schnaper announced the 2015 winners:

Chuck Jackson, Facilities Manager at the Ithaca YMCA. Through his dedication, high standards and hard work, Chuck goes above and beyond the requirements of his position to support the Y's mission through the maintenance and improvement of its facilities. Chuck displays an exceptional work ethic and top quality work. He is extremely organized, making good use of all resources efficiently, and motivating his small staff with clear expectations and good humor. He manages volunteers with appreciation, and models high quality work and dedication by his own example. After three years at the YMCA, Chuck still tackles the most difficult tasks himself and is willing to work at odd hours and on weekends when needed.
