The largest wedding expo in Ithaca is coming to the The Shops at Ithaca Mall this month.  The free 'Create Your Day Wedding Expo' gives couples an opportunity to talk to providers of all the products and services they might need for a wedding, all in one place.  Prospective brides will be eligible to win prizes, visit over 30 wedding vendors, and view a fashion show.

"Limousine companies, florists, photographers, hair and makeup people, DJs, venues, hotels, skin care people, a woman who does nail art for your big day, Dressella's, who will bring out a variety of dresses for brides to take a look at and bridesmaids dresses, and of course the wedding gown itself," says Ithaca Mall Marketing Director Alyssa Nappa.  "I think we're covering most of the bases -- you should be able to find anything you need for your big day here at the wedding expo."

The expo is sponsored by The Shops at Ithaca Mall, Cayuga Radio Group, and Dressella's Bridal Boutique.  Dressella's, a mall tenant, will produce a fashion show that features dresses offered by the store, with a DJ to MC the event.

Nappa says it pays to register ahead of time in order to receive complimentary gift bags with free samples and coupons when brides arrive and sign in. They will also receive an entry in the afternoon raffle.


"We encourage brides to do that because if they pre-register they can get a goodie-bag when they come to the event," she says.  "The goodie-bags will have some kind of gift from all the different businesses that are participating this year.  You get a map showing the vendor locations, and a 'Passport'.  If you visit all the businesses on the passport you receive an additional raffle entry.  We're giving away a couple of trips, some photo packages and DJ packages, hair and makeup packages, floral arrangements for bridesmaids and brides alike."


Many of the vendors plan to offer samples of their wares, including a cake tasting at the Dottie’s Ice Cream booth.

The 'Create Your Day Wedding Expo' will be at The shops at Ithaca Mall February 27 from 11am to 3pm.
