Lansing Village Mayor Donald Hartill reported that all the base paving on Triphammer Road is now complete, and with luck the final coat will be applied before the end of September.  "I've been promised that within two weeks they'll do the final coat," Hartill said in a Village Trustees meeting Monday.

The paving project requires at least two warm and dry days, which is never a certainty in Ithaca.  But once the paving is complete, finishing touches will be all that is left.  Installing and hooking up street lights and landscaping are planned, including at least beginning to plant trees later this year.  "It's actually a good time to do it, because they will be dormant at that point," Hartill said.  "The grass may not be seeded, but we will be in good shape for the winter."

Other details include a wall on Pyramid Drive and signage at Savannah Park.  Workmen have been working on traffic lights this week as well.  I'm going to try very hard for a ribbon cutting in late October," Hartil said.  "It's something that I've certainly looked forward to for nearly a decade.
