Visions Federal Credit Union worked in partnership with Ithaca College to deliver PPE to Longview, an Ithacare Community. On Wednesday, May 20, Aisha Jasper and Samantha Ridgeway from Visions Federal Credit Union along with Jeff Golden from Ithaca College delivered the PPE masks and shields to Kathleen Burke, Director of Development & Community Relations and Danielle Overpeck, RN, Director of Resident Services at Longview.
This community partnership allows the senior living community to have enough access to much- needed safety equipment during these unprecedented times. This was all made possible due to the Visions Federal Credit Union's Heart of a Hero campaign that honors local businesses and organizations stepping up during the pandemic.
"It's no secret that people are going through tough times," says Tim Strong, Community Development Manager for Visions. "Amidst that, though, people are really stepping up and doing their part to help those in our communities. Whether it's free meals or donating supplies, all of these are bright spots. We want to shine a light on their good work."
Jeff Golden received the Heart of a Hero Spotlight due to his positive efforts. Golden, transformed the on-campus print shop at Ithaca College into a mask and shield production facility. Together with his team, they have made over 6,000 shields and 20,000 masks for front- line workers.
When told of his Heart of a Hero award money from Visions, Jeff chose to use the funds to donate another 1,000 masks and 200 shields to Longview.
