- Around Town
This year’s fifty recipients will administer eighty programs and partner with an estimated 1 in 5 residents as they work to reach their best potential. With 44% of Tompkins County residents earning less than the basic cost of living, these programs can make a significant difference.
The programs will also be funded in 2021-2022 at a similar percentage of the total funds available as a result of the outcome of this year’s United Way Community Campaign. Thus, the funding not only positively impacts the lives of individuals and households who live and work in Tompkins County, but it also provides fifty local nonprofits with stabilizing, reliable funding to operate these programs.
In additional to the Community Care Fund, UWTC has several other grant cycles and initiatives to meet community needs through the collective donations received annually.
