The interview and selection process will no doubt generate significant interest among a multitude of different district groups, including teachers, support staff, parents, and community members. For this reason, the process has been structured to incorporate as much input as possible from all facets of the school community.
The following schedule has been developed, leading up to the tentative appointment of the new principal at the April 4, 2007 board of education meeting:
1. Position Posting: December 7, 2007 through February 23, 2007
2. Community Meeting: Tuesday, January 16, 2007
(Elementary School Library: 7pm)
3. Paper Screening/Schedule Interviews: February 26, 2007 – March 2, 2007
4. Round One Interviews: March 5 & 6, 2007
5. Round Two Interviews (3 Finalists): March 15, 2007
6. Board of Education Interview: March 22, 2007
7. Board of Education Appointment: April 4, 2007
The schedule has been developed with the assumption that the position will attract significant interest such that the board will be able to appoint an individual with the personal and professional attributes essential to maintaining and enhancing the educational program for our youngest students.
