Hon. John C. Rowley, Tompkins County Judge, has been elected President of the New York State Association of Drug Treatment Court Professionals (NYSADTCP). Judge Rowley was elected to the post at the association’s annual meeting, held February 28, 2007 in Buffalo.

The NYSADTCP is an organization committed to fostering the growth of drug treatment courts in New York State. Judge Rowley has served as an association board member since 1999.

From 1998 to 2000, he presided over the Ithaca City Drug Court and in 2000 assisted the Honorable M. John Sherman in starting the Tompkins County Felony Drug Court. Judge Rowley has presided over the Tompkins County Family Treatment Court since 2001.

In his capacity as association president, Judge Rowley will lead an organization that hosts an annual training conference attended by more than 700 drug court professionals from across New York State. His term is for two years.
