Some of the money raised that night was used to purchase a handicapped accessible, dog-friendly water fountain which was recently installed on The Cayuga Waterfront Trail. A special ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place this Thursday, May 24th at 5:30 PM, which also happens to coincide with Bob Dylan’s 66th birthday. The new fountain is located along the Trail between Cass Park Skating Rink and The Hangar Theatre.
A bronze plaque has been fixed to the drinking fountain commemorating the extensive list of performers that donated their time and talent to the 2006 event, such as: Greg Graffin, Hubcap, Johnny Dowd, Mary Lorson and St. Low, The Splendors, The Don Bazely Project, Mortal Combine, Steve Gollnick, Joe Crookston, Mike Ellis, Matthew Vendryes and Larry Stamatel.
Rick Manning, Cayuga Waterfront Trail Initiative Coordinator, states "The new drinking fountain is another important amenity that enhances the Waterfront Trail experience for users in Cass Park. It makes this trail a great place to walk, run, bike, and blade and also a fun place to take your dog."
