The Tompkins Cortland Builders and Remodelors Assocaition (TCBRA) offers scholarship opportunities to students in Tompkins and Cortland County School districts. TCBRA serves the building industry in Tompkins and Cortland Counties.  It is affiliated with the New York State Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders.

The William Morehouse Scholarship is a matching funds educational scholarship for qualified students who are pursuing trade school or a one, two or four-year college program in residential building or related fields. The Scholarship Program is sponsored by The New York State Builders Association Research and Education Foundation (NYSBA REF) and the TCBRA.  The Alex Cima memorial scholarship is the TCBRA matching scholarship.  Both scholarships are $500.00 and together total $1,000.00 per year and applicants may reapply while in trade school or college for the upcoming year.

The scholarship goes to two recipients this year:

Logan D. Randall is the son of Duane and Phyllis Randall of 305 W. Groton Rd, Groton, NY.  Logan is a senior at Groton High School and in the Carpentry Class at TST  BOCES.  Logan participated in skills USA competition in 2008 and 2009 and was a regional winner in 2009.  Logan will be attending Alfred State College as a Building Trades-Building Construction major in the fall of 2009.

Derek Fiske is the son of James and Karina Fiske of 6 Center St., Marathon NY. Derek graduated from Marathon High School in 2008 and the Carpentry Class at OCM  BOCES.  Derek is currently attending Alfred State College as a Freshman Building Trades-Building Construction major and will continue there in the fall of 2009.
