This past weekend after months of preparation, Michael Coles, of Lansing Troop 48 – Boy Scouts of America, completed his Eagle Scout project.  With help from fellow scouts, a boat rack was built near the waterfront at Myers Park.  Builders Best Do-It Center, Baker-Miller Lumber Company and Rick’s Rental World helped support the project.

The rack can hold 7 sailboats and 6+ canoes and kayaks.  The project is a portion of the requirements for Eagle rank and includes meetings with stakeholders, planning, requests for donations and project construction.  The boat rack will support the Lansing Recreation Department’s sailing program and the public with small watercraft storage.
