star_120On December 9, 2010, Family and Children’s Service hosted its 16th annual FesTOYval holiday benefit. The event raised over $19,000, a new record for FesTOYval. All monies raised, goes to F&CS’s Children’s Mental Health and Youth Services programs that serves over 500 local children annually.

Ithaca, NY December 16, 2010 – Family and Children’s Service of Ithaca (F&CS) presented its 16th annual FesTOYval, a benefit for its Children’s Mental Health and Youth programs on December 9, 2010 at the Country Club of Ithaca. The event raised over $19,000, a new record for FesTOYval.

Guests enjoyed food, music, and activities, and bid on over 40 themed baskets and marquis items at the silent and live auction, hosted by Dave Vieser, morning host for Cayuga Radio Group. Live auction items included, a wagon filled with over 40 bottles of wine, a kayak, a trip to NYC, and a diamond bracelet. Children enjoyed face painting, balloon animals, crafting in the Kids Corner, and learned about the joy of philanthropy at the Toy Shoppe where gifts were purchased for children in the youth services program and for use in play therapy by clinicians. Party goers could purchase tickets for the 50/50 raffle presented by Cat’s Pajamas. Money raised by the 50/50 raffle was matched by Cat’s Pajamas as a merchandise credit for F&CS.

CFCU Community Credit Union sponsored the event for the 10th consecutive year, the Toy Shoppe was sponsored by Tops Market, Cayuga Radio Group was the media sponsor , Purity sponsored the Kids Corner & the Bon Ton donated give-a-ways for every child in attendance!

F&CS is the oldest existing human service agency in Tompkins County, working in the community since 1885. This year marks the 125th anniversary of service. The organization aims to provide affordable, professional services that support children, families, and organizations in finding solutions to the challenges of life.
