wellsAurora, New York— The Wells College Office of Alumnae and Alumni Relations welcomes the addition of Kristen Phillips as director of alumnae and alumni relations. Kristen, a member of the Wells class of 1995, will take over coordination of the office’s primary duties—helping former students remain connected to the College, to the current Wells community and to each other.  She will also lead related College events such as the annual Reunion Weekend and Volunteer Weekend in conjunction with the Wells College Association of Alumnae and Alumni.

Besides continuing to make Wells’ former students a part of the College’s community, Kristen hopes to take a role in developing innovative ways of keeping recent young alumnae and alumni connected to the school and making it easy for them to stay in touch. Part of this entails strengthening bonds with the College’s office of experiential learning and career services and the nation-wide “network” of Wells alumnae and alumni, and drawing on the skills and experiences of different generations of graduates through employment or internship opportunities. “I like working with people and helping people, and that’s generally what we do [in the alumnae and alumni office],” said Kristen.

She brings to the position the organization and communication skills that she has developed throughout her career. Kristen spent many years in real estate law, working for RES/TITLE Residential Title and Escrow Services in Massachusetts and WebTitle Agency in Rochester, NY. At WebTitle, she developed, and was made vice president of, the company’s Cascade Settlement Agency.

Kristen earned her B.A. in political science at Wells College and her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School. After graduating from Wells, Kristen remained connected with the College as a member of the Friends and Recent Graduates Board from 1995-2003, through assistance with Boston-area career fairs in the early ’00s, by fund-raising during her own class’ 5-year reunion, and most recently attending the Wells Volunteer Weekend last fall, after which she learned about the open director of alumnae and alumni relations position.

“I am thrilled to welcome Kristen into our advancement team and look forward to her partnership in building strong connections with our alumni,” said Michael McGreevey, Wells’ Vice President for Advancement. “As we examine and enhance our programs and partnerships to best meet the needs of our alumni body, Kristen’s diverse experience and skills will provide important leadership toward our success.”
