chamber120The Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce now offers business and culture tours to international destinations. In 2011, sixty travelers took the Chamber’s first 'Mission to China' to visit and learn about China’s cultural and global significance. In May, 2012, another group traveled to Ireland for a tour of coastal cities and fishing villages.

In 2013 the Chamber is offering two all-inclusive trips: Turkey and China. The trips include airfare, airport shuttle bus from Ithaca to JFK, luxury hotel accommodations, meals, all sightseeing fees, transportation in private coaches, and expert, English-speaking tour guides. The trips are open to the public with special pricing for Chamber members.

Carolyn Klass of Cornell University’s Department of Entomology says, “I really enjoyed my travel experience on the Chamber trip to China in October, 2011. The trip ran very smoothly in large part because the Chamber staff were so helpful in working with us to get everything in order from travel visas to bus transportation to and from Ithaca to JFK airport --  and being sure there was a Chamber representative on our trip with us. The trip was packed with activities and gave us a broad overview of the portion of China we traveled to.”

The Chamber partners with experienced tour operators to ensure the best travel experience. Indus Travels, based in Toronto and California, is a full service travel company operating dynamic business missions all over the world. They have been working with local chambers throughout the United States & Canada for the past 11 years and specialize in tours and business missions that introduce travelers to the complexity of culture and environment. Citslinc International, based in California, strives to promote positive economic growth in China by not only bringing American entrepreneurs to China, but also bringing Chinese entrepreneurs to America.
