Friends of the Ithaca Youth Bureau (FIYB) has allocated $15,929 help support Ithaca Youth Bureau (IYB) programs. The funds are being allocated among ten programs. In 2012, FIYB raised more than $24,000 from donors, allowing the organization to increase its support and continue to fund programs adversely affected by budget cuts. 

Jeff Love, FIYB board chair, is pleased that the organization is growing and gaining community supporters.

He said, “I donate my time to FIYB because I have been involved with IYB programs and have seen firsthand the positive impact they have on the development of our young people. It is extremely rewarding to see that many other generous individuals are learning about the IYB and are making financial donations to FIYB to support our kids."

Said Liz Vance, IYB acting director, “The IYB is happy to have this new friend. We are encouraged that we now have an organization looking out for kids and supporting us in our efforts to make great programs available to youth in our community. Our programs prepare young people to live successful lives as adults by providing a variety of recreation and youth development opportunities. I know I speak for everyone at the IYB when I say ‘thank you’ to everyone who donated to FIYB. You are heroes, improving the lives of thousands of young people in our community."
