inspireusaTurning a near-death experience into a positive, unifying media evolution, Melissa Matthews, through her iINSPIRE USA™ endeavor, is asking people to become part of a nationwide movement. iINSPIRE’s goal is to work collaboratively with news organizations and everyday Americans from across the country to be the change our society is so urgently seeking today.

“While learning how to walk again, recovering from multiple surgeries, and overcoming cognitive processing issues, I desperately needed positivity in my life,” Matthews says. “What hit me as hard as the head-on collision that nearly killed me, was the fact that every time I turned on the news, picked up a paper or spoke to someone about current events, all I heard about was negativity, tragedy, and chaos.”

Determined to create a more positive and hopeful society, Matthews launched the iINSPIRE USA Pledge™ this July. “Celebrating our Nation’s birthday seemed to be the perfect time to ask Americans to pledge to become part of this movement by sharing at least one positive thought or inspirational story weekly through social media (Facebook or Twitter), organized media (for journalists and reporters), or human media (wearing something with a positive message or encouraging another person).”

The Pledge is the first initiative of the iINSPIRE USA™ Movement. “Ultimately, we hope to build a Network of Inspiration™ across the U.S. that will inspire Americans with stories that celebrate the incredible perseverance of everyday people; empower non-profit organizations that help people through life’s adversities; and educate individuals who are struggling on how to overcome and flourish in their everyday lives.”

“We hope to have millions of Americans take this simple and free pledge because together we can be the positive change our society so desperately needs right now.”
