Tompkins Financial Advisors is pleased to announce that Kara G. Taylor has joined the firm as managing director for the central New York region. She is based in the Tompkins Financial Advisors office located at 119 East Seneca Street in Ithaca.

In her new role, Taylor is responsible for establishing and executing the wealth management strategy for the central New York region, as well as, ensuring that clients receive the highest level of care.

Taylor brings over 15 years of industry experience to her new role. Prior to joining Tompkins, Taylor was vice president for business and  professional banking for M&T Bank covering Tompkins County and the central New York region. She has served on numerous boards and committees including the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Tompkins County, Beechtree Care Center, TC3 Foundation, Franziska Racker Centers, Sciencenter Discovery Museum, and Leadership Tompkins.

In 2013-2014, Taylor chaired the United Way Community Campaign. She also received the 2014 McPheeters Award presented to an alum of Leadership Tompkins in recognition of community service, a collaborative spirit, creative thinking and proactive work for the common good. Taylor received her Masters in Public Administration from Cornell University.
