ithacaisloveLocal non-profit group, Ithaca is Love, will begin distributing 'Inclusive Space' decals to local businesses this June in honor of Pride Month. Ithaca is Love worked with the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, The Downtown Ithaca Alliance, and the Ithaca & Tompkins County Convention & Visitor's Bureau, to create, and ultimately distribute, window decals for local businesses that wish to advertise that they are an inclusive space for members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

"Celebrating the diversity that makes Ithaca 'Ithaca' and Tompkins County so unique is something the Chamber takes very seriously," said Jennifer Tavares, president of the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce. "We are so happy to be part of a county-wide visible commitment to inclusivity for local businesses wishing to make the pledge."

"We have heard from many community members that they want to be able to identify places and spaces that strive to be inclusive, where they can go on an anniversary dinner date with their partner and not worry about being judged," said Rodney Fleming, volunteer staff for Ithaca is Love. "They want to know which businesses are committed to wanting our business and the business of our allies, and we feel this is a step in the right direction to highlight and celebrate these inclusive spaces."

In appreciation of their demonstrated support of Ithaca is Love and the LGBTQIA+ community, Moonies Bar and Nightclub, K-House Karaoke Lounge and Suites, Silky Jones, and The Range, will be the first recipients of the 'Inclusive Space' decals.

Ithaca is Love is a non-profit organization located in Ithaca, New York, that works to coordinate social events and create a sense of community for the LGBTQIA+ community members and allies, living in the Ithaca area.
