These awards aim to highlight and celebrate the achievements of young professionals, aged 21 to 40, who are excelling in their respective fields and making an impact in Tompkins County.
This year featured a special judging panel that consisted of past Fab5 Award winners. After receiving more than 40 nominations, the judges were tasked with selecting the winners for each category.
This year’s winners:
- Not-for-Profit Leader of the Year – Dominick Recckio, Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce
- Business Leader of the Year – Abby Peterson, Tompkins Trust Company
- Rookie of the Year – Austin Reid, Hillel at Ithaca College
- Entrepreneur of the Year – Elaan Greenfield, The Metal Smithery
- Volunteer of the Year – Harmony Malone, UNITED Dance Troupe
These young professionals have shown tremendous success and passion through their work within this community. All members of the community are invited to honor and celebrate them at the 2020 Fab5 Young Professional Awards.
"Fab5 is a unique event that showcases the great work young professionals are doing in our community and has become one of Tompkins Connect’s signature events for the year. It's a great way for these leaders to network with others and celebrate their excellence in our community. We hope attendees leave with a renewed sense of love for Tompkins County as a place to live, work, and most importantly stay," shared Jessie White, Chair of Tompkins Connect and 2019 Volunteer of the Year winner.
The awards celebration will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Coltivare Restaurant and Event Center, 235 S. Cayuga Street in Ithaca NY, from 5:30 to 9:00pm.
