ImageHow do you approach the major decisions you make in your business?  Do you ever think, pray, or meditate about how to best interact with your employees, your customers, or your vendors?  Or do you go through each day tackling each challenge or problem as it comes along, with no intended consequence, but instead working to put out endless fires?

In a prior article I mentioned Lynne McTaggart’s  book,  The Intention Experiment: Using Your Thoughts to Change Your Life and the World.   She wrote it in 2006, it was published in 2007, and today it has continued to evolve through her interactive website

The book provides documentation of extensive research that explores the nature of consciousness, “carried on for thirty years in prestigious institutions around the world, [that] shows that thoughts are capable of affecting everything from the simplest machines to the most complex living beings.  This evidence suggests that human thoughts and intentions are an actual physical ‘something’ with the astonishing power to change our world.  Every thought we have is a tangible energy with the power to transform.  A thought is not only a thing: a thought is a thing that influences other things” (p.xvii, Introduction).

McTaggart’s book is divided into three parts, the main body of the work presents a synthesis of all the experimental evidence that exists on intention into “a coherent theory of how intention works, how it can be used in your life, and which conditions optimize its effect.” (p.xxv, Introduction)  The second portion of the book offers a blueprnt of how you can utilize these theories practically in your own life.  And the third section of the book consists of a series of personal and group experiments.  The website continues with new experiments worldwide, in which anyone, including you, can participate.

Of all the books published on this topic (and there are lots out there:), I’ve chosen to share this one with you because of the extensive research she amalgamates to help  even the most skeptical to wonder about this fascinating subject.  One realizes this isn’t woo-woo at all, but a dynamic, awesome subject worth exploring, and attempting to integrate into one’s life practices.

One of the best examples given, of someone who mastered the principles of intention,  is Mohammad Ali, who not only employed sophisticated visioning practices, but who also used every self-motivational technique available to manifest his desire to win -- affirmations, mental rehearsal, and self-confirmation.  In the chapter entitled “Mental Blueprints,” McTaggart provides information about techniques, and examples of how they have been used successfully by individuals ranging from athletes to severely ill patients.

I highly recommend you investigate this dynamic realm of possibility, the ability to manifest your desires through the power of intention.  I guarantee the more you read about it, the more willing you’ll be to try it, and the more you’ll be able to use your mind to create your reality.

Wishing you powerful, happy thoughts!
