ImageEffective on July 1, 2010, Dr. Rob Mackenzie began a two year term as the President of the Board of Trustees for the Paleontological Research Institution (PRI). Dr. Mackenzie has served as the Cayuga Medical Center’s President and CEO for over seven years and has been an advocate for the hospital’s advancement and superior patient care.

“As PRI's closest neighbor, it's been my pleasure to watch it grow to national stature with superb collections, a spectacular museum, strong education programs – and most of all, great people,” stated Dr. Mackenzie. “In a time of environmental challenge, I believe PRI’s strong science grounding will be critical to well-informed debate. Plus: fossils rock!”

Dr. Mackenzie received his undergraduate degree in biology from Harvard University and graduated from Albany Medical College. He was later named Chief Surgical Resident at Toronto General. He has received surgical certifications from both the United States and Canada and has used his experiences and skills to give back and serve as an instructor for the next generation of excellent surgeons. He has been an instructor at Cornell University’s Weill Medical College and has played an integral role in developing the medical student teaching rotation at the Cayuga Medical Center.
