ImageBetter Housing for Tompkins County announced Richard Cowan would be joining their team. In addition to nearly 3 decades experience managing the 235 apartments at West Village in Ithaca, Cowan has served on the Board of Fransisca Racker Center, and was VP on the Board of TC United Soccer Club, as well as parenting 3 children.

Cowan was instrumental in the recent West Village Apartments transition and rehabilitation.

After 4 years of successful service to Better Housing for Tompkins County, and the residents of 121 units managed by our organizations dedicated staff, Andrew Piliero is relocating to Long Island to be closer to family.

Piliero has helped to increase revenues, reduce expenses, upgrade energy efficiency and accessibility, increase wait lists, improve resident satisfaction, and implement non smoking policies in our buildings. He has played a crucial role in securing over $5 million dollars in government grants to revitalize rental communities, as well as many other grants to benefit our communities and better the lives of our residents. This will be a tough term to follow, but Cowan is eager to demonstrate his talent.

The two property managers are working as a team until the end of July in order to provide a smooth transition and uninterrupted service to our tenants. We are thankful to have found this match and eagerly await the opportunities for personal and organizational growth that await Better Housing for Tompkins County.
