The gala raised a net of over $63,000 to support Cayuga Medical Center Foundation’s 2011 fundraising initiative – New Surgical Suites. Of the $63,000, $18,500 was raised by an auction with auctioneers Laurie Linn (Communiqué Design) and David Hall (National Book Auctions). All of the auction items were generously donated by members of our community. This is the highest amount ever raised by the event.
“The Annual CMC Gala helps us fund specific projects at Cayuga Medical Center. For the past two years, proceeds from the event have gone toward a major renovation of surgical services, which includes two additional surgical suites, expanding existing suites, and adding new equipment. We are very fortunate to have strong support and commitment from our community. We in turn, will keep them at the center of everything we do by providing high quality patient care and recruiting the finest physicians and staff. This will enable CMC to continue its growth well into the future. We are also very grateful to the outstanding commitment by CMC’s Gala Committee led by Loren Colbert and Jennifer Whittaker. Everyone came together and did their part and made the evening a great success,” said Dr. Rob Mackenzie, president and CEO.
The fundraising initiative for Cayuga Medical Center’s Surgical Services Project will conclude at the end of this year. Donations are still being accepted.
